Eitenne Wegner
Etienne Wenger (1952- ) is a Swiss theorist, most recognized for his development of the concept communities of practice. His work on the subject has had far reaching influence, both theory and practice in fields such as education, business, government, and the non-profit sector. Wegner believes that communities of practice are “groups of people who share a concern or a passion for something they do and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly.” He has discusses this theory in his books, Situated Learning and Communities of Practice: Learning, Meaning, and Identity.
